• It's time to reregister your MVP card for SCARL Shop and Share (Have you designated SCARL as your Shop & Share recipient?) You can register your MVP card either online at www.foodlion.com or by phoning 1-800-210-9569, designating 'SCARL' as your charity of choice. We thank everyone who participates, providing a source of revenue that helps with veternarian care for foster pets.

The Stanly County (North Carolina) Animal Rescue League has the pet you've been looking for (An adoption fee of $50 is required.)! The stray and abandoned animals that we find are treated by a veterinarian and cared for in foster homes as they await adoption. There's one perfect for you!

• Available cats and dogs are described (and pictured as available) here on the web page. Phone numbers of foster parents are provided.

• You can meet our wonderful fostered pets at one of our Adopt-a-Pets days at Cannon Park (across from the YMCA in Albemarle) and other locations around Stanly County..

The Stanly County Animal Rescue League is a  private, nonprofit organization. Our stated mission is to:

• Locate short-term foster homes for neglected, abandoned and homeless animals until a responsible adoptive home can be found.
• Provide initial veterinary care and altering (all females are spayed, all males are neutered prior to adoption) for animals prior to placement in a foster home.
• Assist in alleviating cruel and neglectful treatment of animals.
• Insure that seriously injured or gravely ill animals will be humanely euthanized by a veterinarian

Like all nonprofit organizations, we are in constant need of funds and volunteers. Current fundraisers:

• Sweatshirts $20
• T-shirts $10
